Shelby

Deep in the Louisiana swamp lives Shelby Stanga, the “Swamp Man,” whose life has become the stuff of legend. Known for underwater logging, buried treasure, strange discoveries, and a lifetime spent surviving in one of America's last great wildernesses, Shelby has become larger than life. But the legends only tell part of the story. Filmed over more than fifteen years, SHELBY goes beyond the television persona to reveal the man behind the myths. Through adventure, humor, hardship, and quiet reflection, the film explores a life lived almost entirely on Shelby's own terms. Somewhere between fact and folklore is a portrait of a man unlike anyone you've ever met.
